May 2009 Updates

Just in time for last minute Mother's Day shopping, we have another great Trunk Show of handwoven baskets from Ghana. The show will be here until Saturday, May 26 but you will want to come in early as they go fast.

We will be open during Taste of the Tower so come on by and visit. It is happening on Thursday, May 14. More details are available at the Tower District website.

KNIT'N NOSH
Join us on Friday, May 22 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. We will be having a potluck and knitting, crocheting and spinning night. There will be a potluck on the 4th Friday of every month, so add it to your schedule and plan on a great time.

Please bring your favorite dish, one or several projects and your fun attitude. We will eat until we can't see straight and then knit the night away.

STITCH'N PITCH
Our night at the ballpark is coming soon. Stitch.'n Pitch with the Fresno Grizzlies is Saturday, May 16 and the game starts at 7:05pm. You can contact Freddie Dominguez at 559-320-2536 to reserve your seats.

Remember, we want to have a Magic Ball Exchange at the game. Everyone is welcome to play, not just Ancient Pathways customers. It takes approximately 400 yards of worsted weight yarn and you wind into this any treats that a fiber person might enjoy. Some examples of treats are buttons, tea bags, stitch markers, sticky notes, beads, needle tips or point protectors or tape measures. The only thing we think shouldn't be included are any edibles. (Chocolate in the summer with yarn...Not good.) Everyone who brings a ball will get a ball. The previous exchange was loads of fun; we couldn't wait to see what the next treat was going to be. None of us have finished a project faster.

SECOND SOCK SYNDROME CLUB
Anyone who has had trouble finishing that pesky second sock will find this club helpful. Bring your lonely socks to work on; if you're lucky someone else might have a sock to match and a pair is born! Come by on Wednesdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm to get some second sock syndrome support. All support club meetings are free so come on in and play.

NEW KNIT ALONGS
Meg has to crazy desire to knit a pair of socks on small needles! Come on Friday mornings from 11:00am to 1:00pm and knit along with us. The sock choice this time around is Polly Jean by MJ Kim. It is one of those "looks hard but not really" kind of projects. After Polly Jean is finished we will be working on Pomatomas Socks by Cookie A.

Come to the dark side, we have cookies.

SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES
Ancient Pathways now has a presence on a couple of the social networking sites. We are now on Twitter as ancientpathways and Facebook as Ancient Pathways. Join us and be a part of the fun!
