Happy New Year!

I was told this one day in the shop:
"What you do on New Year's Day is what you will do all year." I like it! This is our theme for the shop on January 1st.

New Year's Eve and Day Schedule

Thursday, December 31
11:00am to 5:30pm

New Year's Day, Friday, January 1
12:00noon to 4:00pm

Saturday, January 2 is back to our regular hours 11:00am to 5:30pm

Free Classes on January 1st
We will be having two free classes during the day. You can learn to make a cute little beaded bag that is great for beginners, or an intriguing scarf with a neat star stitch. The bag uses fingering weight yarn, size 5 or 6 beads and a size 4 needle. The scarf looks good in any weight of yarn and the appropriate needles. All supplies are available at the shop.

Each class will be running concurrently so drop in whenever you can't take anymore football games.

Happy Knitting,
- Meg at Ancient Pathways

Anzula Luxury Fibers Trunk Show

We are having a special showing of Anzula yarns, showcasing some new colors and your past favorites. Starting Tuesday, September 8 through Saturday, September 19 you can come by and fondle the luxury fibers from one of our favorite local dyers, Sabrina Famellos-Schmidt.

For those of you who couldn't be at Sock Summit, we will have an assortment of the special colors she designed for the Dye for Glory contest. The colors are Beer O'Clock, 1 Red Shoe and Ode to the Sock. These went really fast at the show so come in early and get yours!

Some of the luscious fibers are Sea Cell/Silk, Superfine Merino/Alpaca, Superwash Merino/Cashmere/Nylon and of course our standby's of Merino Lace and Superwash Merino/Nylon.

Come roll in the yarn with us! (Ok, not really. Sounded good though didn't it?)

Origami Sweater

Our latest sweater Knitalong is the Origami Sweater designed by Linda Daniels. I have to say NONE of the pictures that you see on Ravelry give justice to the pure genius design of this sweater. It honestly doesn't get any easier. Two rectangles, simple stitch pattern, 4 seams, and voila you get the most cheeky design. Dolman sleeves, scooped back ... delicious. It's what I call Couture Knitting. It feels like a cloud of a shawl but stays on like a sweater.

We are still placing orders for the kits, you'll have to come by the store, check out the sample cards, and order what works best for you. We've got a card full of beautiful Melange colors (what I would call heathered) and 3 tiers of beautiful solids. Probably about 80 colors to choose from in all. And I'm not exaggerating. So far it has looked great on almost everyone who has tried it on. It is available in S/M and L/XL.

If you'd like to join in on the newest knitting sensation, please stop by or give us a call. We'd love to have you join in for your next "Favorite" sweater.

HELENA BABY SWEATER

From the description on Knitty.com:
“This pretty little sweater-dress is knit using top-down raglan construction for minimal finishing. Using a hand-dyed semi-solid yarn allows for some color variation without obscuring the lacy “skirt” pattern. The tie closures were actually an afterthought, when I couldn’t find the perfect buttons, but they add charm and interest to the bodice portion of the sweater. If you prefer buttons, it would be easy to add buttonholes in the middle row of the placket. “
Date: Thursdays, September 10, 17, 24
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Fee: $66.00 plus materials
Instructor: Jolene Meurer
