Happy New Year!
I was told this one day in the shop:
"What you do on New Year's Day is what you will do all year." I like it! This is our theme for the shop on January 1st.
New Year's Eve and Day Schedule
Thursday, December 31
11:00am to 5:30pm
New Year's Day, Friday, January 1
12:00noon to 4:00pm
Saturday, January 2 is back to our regular hours 11:00am to 5:30pm
Free Classes on January 1st
We will be having two free classes during the day. You can learn to make a cute little beaded bag that is great for beginners, or an intriguing scarf with a neat star stitch. The bag uses fingering weight yarn, size 5 or 6 beads and a size 4 needle. The scarf looks good in any weight of yarn and the appropriate needles. All supplies are available at the shop.
Each class will be running concurrently so drop in whenever you can't take anymore football games.
Happy Knitting,
- Meg at Ancient Pathways

A TASTE OF KNITTING

Date: Tuesdays, October 13, 20
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm

CALORIMETRY
"Calorimetry is a scientific term describing the measurement of heat lost or gained.
Knit hats are a wonderful way to block out the cold, but when you have long hair it usually requires wearing it down, not often the most comfortable option on a blustery day. This headscarf allows you to wear your hair up while keeping your ears warm and preventing heat from escaping from the top of your head." Quoted from the designer, Kathryn Schoendorf.
Date: Tuesday, October 15
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Fee: $22.00 plus materials
Instructor: Meg Smith

MEDITATIVE KNIT OR CROCHET
Knitting is a really fine way to clear one’s mind. This workshop will be about filling your project with peaceful thoughts. There will be a minimum of talking and a maximum of peacefulness. A prayer shawl is a good choice of project but any project is okay. If you want to donate a shawl it will be gratefully accepted. We are in the process of finding a group to donate to.
Date: Friday, October 16
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Fee: $11.00 plus materials
Instructor: Sara Peters

This is one of the simpler ways to knit with beads; if you know how to knit and purl you can make this. The beads will need to be strung before class so please come in early to pick your supplies.
